Matt established ShadowBurner in 2024 after 25+ years of multi-sport coaching, corporate management, military leadership, and sports parenting experience. On the heels of graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Matt immediately assumed leadership of a high school soccer program and various local youth teams while also serving as an Officer in the United States Army and serving multiple deployments in the Middle East.
Upon leaving the Army in 2008, Matt began to hone his coaching expertise and credentials…ultimately graduating from Ohio University with a Master’s Degree in Sports Science. This unique program of study centered on holistic aspects of coaching and the science behind cognitive, emotional, and physical performance that are required to effectively develop and manage elite athletes.
After years of coaching MLS Next soccer, Matt currently serves as the Assistant Boys Director for the Georgia Olympic Development Program for soccer after 7 years in the program. Throughout this journey, Matt has assisted over 60 players in gaining admission to various Major League Soccer and international youth soccer academies.

Dr. Chillemi is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Specialty Orthopedics in the Atlanta metro area, specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and joint reconstruction. He treats a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, with a focus on knee and shoulder injuries, trauma care, and advanced minimally invasive techniques.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, completed his orthopedic residency at the University of South Alabama, and pursued fellowship training in sports medicine at the Andrews Institute for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
Dr. Chillemi is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is affiliated with Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Northside Hospital – Duluth. He is committed to delivering patient-centered care that helps individuals return to the activities they love.
